Week 12 - Bath time 101

Considering how Jasper is always playing in his water bowl, sticking both paws in and dunking in practically his whole head, it was strange to us then that he does not like baths. Now that Jasper has hit his 12-Week mark, it was safe to give him his first "real" bath with shampoo.

Week 11 - Cousin Luna

Jasper got a play date with his cousin Luna, a teacup Yorkie today. He's still struggling with the size difference.

As little as she is, Luna dared to face Jasper, puppy-to-puppy...

On second thought. A glass door between the two couldn't hurt.

"I see you, Luna!"

Luna gives it another shot, brave little girl. Jasper, still unable to grasp her smallness, gives her a poke on the back...

Landing him in Time Out. Again.

Week 11 - Beach Night

Tonight, Jasper gets his first trip to the beach. He anticipates a new adventure is just at the end of the 15-minute car ride to Corona del Mar.


So far, so good. The water is not his friend, but Jasper learns to tolerate it's existence as he gazes out towards the bobbing lights of boats and buoys dotting the horizon.

Jasper discovers a great new and natural chew toy: seaweed.

Seaweed also makes fine bedding.

The 10pm round-up call means that's it for the beach tonight. Maybe next time we'll get to see it in daylight.

But it was still a worthwhile trip nonetheless. Jasper prepares for a snooze on the ride home, dreaming of beds of seaweed and soft powdery sand in his paw pads.

Week 10 - O Brother, where art thou?

Jasper's brothers, Emmit and Seth, came by for a visit this afternoon, and somehow they all got into the same bucket of water. Emmit and Seth had just paid a visit to the vet, and were not only groggy but carsick as well, and just wanted to sleep. Jasper however, hadn't seen his brothers in weeks and wanted nothing more than to play with them. As Emmit sat whimpering in the corner, Jasper proceeded to pick on Seth every moment he got.

Jasper, the bully. And the only one with his ears up, I might add. No pressure, boys.

But in the end, they were brothers, and had only love for each other. Here the boys (L to R: Emmit, Jasper, Seth) find the bushes very attractive; Jasper finally lets Seth sleep.

And then it was time for Jasper to sleep himself... using his water bucket as a pillow, and then in Karate Kid pose.

Week 9 - I <3 meat.

That's right, folks. I eat better than my mom and dad!

Week 8 - This is MY home now

By Week 8, Jasper's ears looked like they were starting to attempt to go up. It was a great relief. Remember Boxer's ears? 

Jasper's tactic is to look cute... and then pounce on whatever it was that he wanted.

Unfortunately, he was caught, as Vilasay tries to dig out whatever it was that Jasper was trying to chow down on.

With all of his fur, grooming is a complete necessity. Most of the time, Jasper loves it.
